Sixth Form Overview
An overview of BHS Sixth Form:
We have a range of subjects available, a total of 23. These courses are either A Level or CTEC. All of the subjects available can be found in the Sixth Form prospectus (on the website), which has course entry requirements in too.
Year 12 and Year 13 students have 9 hours over a fortnight of teaching time in each subject.
Year 12 and Year 13 students also have 9 hours over a fortnight of Supervised Study.
During ‘private study’ lessons, students are expected to use this time to continue with their studies outside of lessons.
In Year 12 and Year 13, students are expected to attend Form Time in the mornings, with their Form Tutor. In the Sixth Form, we have a dedicated team of 10 Sixth Form Tutors who will lead Year 12 and 13 students through their A Level/CTEC studies.
Enrichment takes place in Year 12 only. There are two directed sessions led by the Director of Key Stage 5, Careers Officer, and external visitors. In addition to this, students have two self-directed hours where they can complete enrichment choices such as work experience, MOOCs, LAMDA or Pre Teach Course.
Our Enrichment booklet is available on the website.
