Boston High School Sixth Form Entry Policy |
General Sixth Form Entry Requirements
Students will usually be expected to have gained a minimum of 5 C grades at GCSE, including English and Maths. Students will be expected to gain A*, A or B in the subjects they wish to study. For youngsters presenting with vocational qualifications, e.g. BTEC first, these should be at least at Merit level (equivalent to a B at GSCE). This means that the vast majority of Sixth Form students will achieve at least 4 GCSEs at grade B or above. Each subject will detail its own entry requirement. Entry requirements for particular subjects are given below. Where there is evidence that special circumstances have prevented a candidate from achieving one or more of the grades required, the Headteacher or Director of Sixth Form Studies may use their discretion and admit the student.
